Meet Andrew
My Mission
My name is Andrew Compton. I wasn't always an aviator until just a few years ago. Once I had my first flight. I knew this was all I will ever want to do. I am a first generation aviator. I know first hand what it is like to know nothing about aviation and having to navigate my way into this industry. Once you are involved. It holds tight and won't let go. This is an incredible community that keeps you humble. I pride myself on being humble, empathetic, patient, adaptable, and understanding.
My personal mission is to ensure aviation is not exclusive and everyone has an equal opportunity to learn what it takes to become a pilot or be involved in aviation.
My Story
When I was fourteen. My grandfather paid for me to go on a bush flight in Alaska. We explored the Alaska Wilderness and even did some spin! I was immediately hooked like any fourteen year old kid would be. After, I was invited to go onto a helicopter ride to a glacier. I still remember it like it was yesterday. One could argue I loved that even more. Immediatley, I was hooked, I knew I wanted to be a pilot. Sadly, none of my family knew about aviation and never encoured it, so I grew up without Aviation. However, Fast forward 18 years later. Having had a full career as an early Tesla employee to having my own Detailing buisness, having trained and consulted businesses at Hyundai. Here I am, flying and doing what I love and sharing it with others. After taking a discovery flight at Dekalb Airport in a Piper Arrow. I had a moment of clarity that this is what I want to do. So I dropped everything to be here.
Today, I am an instructor and hope to always be instructing. My goal is to fly for the Airlines, but to always be teaching and learning. My focus is always to be the student first instructor second. Experience is the best teacher.
